Davide Eynard is a Staff Machine Learning Engineer and Researcher at Mozilla.ai, where he focuses on building open, transparent, and user-owned AI technologies.

His career spans industry, startups, and academia. He previously worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Twitter, was the first engineer at startups including Fabula AI and Videocites, and held senior research and teaching positions at Università della Svizzera Italiana and Politecnico di Milano.

His expertise spans knowledge representation, large-scale multimedia retrieval, computer vision, graph learning, and federated social networks. More recently, his work has focused on small, local, open-source AI, exploring how to make AI tools more accessible, lightweight, and transparent while keeping users in control.

He is also the creator of projects including 3564020356.org, PicoGopher, and BYOTA, and, most importantly, the proud father of two amazing kids.
