Saskia Lensink is a language and speech technology expert with a PhD in Linguistics from Leiden University. At the Netherlands Organisation for Applied Scientific Research (TNO), she leads GPT-NL, a Dutch initiative to develop a sovereign language model trained on lawfully acquired data.

She is also involved in European initiatives focused on advancing AI sovereignty and large language models. A frequent speaker on digital sovereignty, Saskia brings together hands-on experience from GPT-NL and a broader perspective on the challenges and opportunities of building AI technology in and for Europe.
